How sports calendar feeds work

For families juggling schedules across TeamSnap, GameChanger, ArbiterLive, and more.

The one-sentence answer

A downloaded .ics file is a snapshot of the schedule as it was. Subscribing to a calendar feed — sometimes called an iCal or ICS feed — keeps that schedule current, because the link keeps reflecting changes instead of freezing them in place.

If the coach moves Saturday’s game, one of these knows and one doesn’t.

Why this bites in youth sports

Rainouts get made up on a different field. Single games turn into best-of-three. Bracket play pushes Sunday’s start time by an hour. A downloaded snapshot goes stale the moment any of that happens — a feed catches up on its own.

Not sure which? TeamSnap ONE is a separate app with an 'All Schedules' tab. If you use the regular TeamSnap app or website, choose Classic.

What Corralio does once the schedules are in

What a calendar app gives you: three schedules, side by side, in one colour-coded week.

What that still doesn’t tell you: that Casey’s 10:00 soccer game and Drew’s 10:00 basketball game are forty minutes apart, that you need to leave at 9:07 to make the first one, and that nobody has solved the second one yet.

Corralio closes that gap: your people go in once, becoming one household plan. From there it finds the conflicts, works out the required arrival at each venue, calculates a Leave-By time, and — where travel is involved — adds that context too. That’s what becomes your Weekend Ready plan.

Calendar apps tell you what’s scheduled. Corralio helps your family make the sports plan work.
